Ramblings of a dying poet (2016)

if i spoke words of beauty like stars stretched across a canvas
to create endless stories like a god by my design
would I bear the weight of the lives I birthed upon my shoulders
a titan, atlas, and dance, the
steel wrought forth from fire, hell burning, tormenting, my thoughts
deigned by demons sing, ring, bring forth a glorious hallelujah to
the embrace of life birthed from the pursuit of death,
or would I like moonlight on the beach in love
let them fall through my fingers like my passion,
a god of fear and reprisal instead of love and life
would I fail my creations as I failed myself
in the same breath I created them breathe their destruction as I waited
my own.

When Death Comes For Me (2015)

I shall fear no man no beast nor
ill, for death comes to every
each and all, and promises of
life again in grasses green and skies
of blue, lends me not to a fear of
death, nor begs alliance to any
being,
In truth I might stand to welcome death,
as one might surely greet a friend,
and beckon him in to visit a while
for surely he will be tired,
we'll talk of life, of love and loss,
and those who have come before,
and when my time has come I shall not
fight, and beg those loved not to mourn,
I have lived and loved and feared no man,
and with the devil oft I've danced;
I have talked with god and known his angels,
and seen the best in man's love for man,
so when death has come for me,
my dearest loves never mourn,
my body lies and fades away,
but it was never more than a vessel I wore.

A Moment's Notice to Heaven's Fall (2013)

I saw heaven's fall, through tear soaked eyes
and with that fall, I thought to die,
a death of dreams, a death of light,
Your image burned behind closed eyes.

I saw an end, to all that awed,
and every moment, the shadow called,
The shadow rang, it sang its song
and all in all, you were all I saw.

And darkness came, and I saw it all,
and it was the same, I knew the fall,
I echoed your words, my tear soaked eyes,
and with that fall, I begged to die.

Memories Behind The Closed Eye (2013)

If I close my eyes I can quite nearly remember
those songs of yesterday, those joyous
dirges of my long forgotten childhood.
Beyond the grasps of memory,
beyond my ability to recall,
there surely lies my lost smile;
hope in the base of Pandora's box,
unspoken childhood innocence.
And if I reach ever outward,
ever deeper, grasping farther,
mayhap then I find that which was lost,
and maybe perhaps should I reach farther,
somehow then I would find myself there.

For Leslie (2013)

For every kind word, a poem, a hit,
I swear to god I must write some shit,
A page of brilliance, of words inspired,
I write ten more just for the fire,
And on nights when I write my best
I drink to try to forget the rest.

The Bastard and the Ethereal (2012)

The fatherless child, woefully insignificant,
dares a gaze upon the wondrous.

And stands he in her sight,
he the subliminal shadow heart.

For a moment sublime he feels their eyes meet,
and she reaches stone covered heart
in a gaze she never registers.

She sees and she never knows,
never sees that shadow boy that fades into the light.

She hears and she never knows
his whispering on the wind.

"Mother, today I touched a star."

Winter's Sleep (2012)

You're perfect, so lovely,
your rosen cheeks turned white and,
You're sleeping, my angel,
I won't disturb your dream.

Your face dear, is so still,

do you dream of heaven?
You waste it, you want it,
it lies beyond your grasp,
did I see, you twitch there,
it must of been the light and,
you lie there, so softly,
You never looked more beautiful.

You're perfect, so lovely,

your rosen cheeks turned white and,
You're sleeping, my angel,
I won't disturb your dream,
I won't disturb your dream.

I won't disturb your dream.

No one heard you scream.
