Butterfly Wildfire (2012)

I see her walk by from my perch,
a shadow on the wall unseen.
Her locks burn of passion's color,
A wind-blown flame free of its wick.
Something about her bears...
something words can't say,
but we all feel and I know,
we are all afraid to die,
to leave nothing behind.

She dances there,
somewhere on the edge of time,
a subtle ripple on the fabric,
a butterfly echoing outward.

A slight glance backward,
a moment, can she see?
a shadow on the wall unseen,
her eyes open wide she looks on through.

Butterfly,
wildfire,
flutter away,
I see your smile,
but deep down you cry.
Butterfly,
wildfire,
fading away,
Vanishing smile now ring around,
we all fall,
we all die.
